Wouldn’t it be fun to not have a boss or better yet still get paid and not have a boss? You might think the only way to make that happen is to start a business and become your own boss. If that still doesn’t appeal to you, I may have the ultimate solution. Just become famous…like Instagram famous. If vine is more your route become the next sensation, create the next trending hashtag on Twitter. If I missed your favorite social media platform don’t worry it’s all included in the same formula. I’m about to tell you how you can turn your social media account into a career.
Almost everyone at this point has some sort of sick addiction to social media. Even my own mother has succumb to the Facebook charm and she made an account just three weeks ago. We tried to warn her. The good news is you don’t have to fight it anymore. Let social media in. Allow it to fill that lonely void in your life. There is a chance that new Twitter friend you just made might not be a serial killer. Either way now you can shut up all your judgmental family members that tell you you’re wasting you life away by getting paid.
Why shouldn’t you get paid to share your life with the world? I mean, it was your scrambled eggs YOU made that got over 100 likes on Instagram. Turn those likes and retweets into cold hard cash, at least you’ll be able to cover all those data fees.
1. Marketing is the first step and you don’t need a bachelors degree to do it. All you need is a little creativity. Whatever it is you enjoy doing, share it on social media. You could be the next meme or viral video that touches hearts all over the world. When first starting on social media it can be a bit overwhelming, the world of wifi can be a cruel scary place but not when your having fun. Post things you enjoy doing and hashtag til you can’t anymore. The more posts you make the more you can engage people from all parts of the globe. Once you begin to build an audience you can see what they react to the most. If the picture of your dog got 10 likes but your outfit of the day brought in hundreds; you may have to retire scooter to his cage for good. Develop on what your followers like and enjoy. The good thing is when your posting things you enjoy doing its not very much work to keep it up. Then again it is kind of tiring to go to the beach and take a million selfies of your bikini. Ugh life can be so difficult at times.
2. Once you’re audience growth has gained some momentum chances are it won’t stop unless you do. It’s like an untamable wildfire that you want to keep spreading. Don’t slack on uploading to your accounts. Consistently find new ways to engage your followers by putting a little spin on each post. Ok so your a foodie that loves trying different restaurants and your followers live to get an earful of your opinion. Chances are there are already thousands of accounts like that so get creative. For example, get your audience invested by asking them to predict how good the dish will be. You could start a trend that travels from one food enthusiast to the next. The key is getting your followers invested in what you’re doing. If they enjoy your posts they’ll invite their friends to check out your page and before you know it you’re instafamous.
3. Once you’ve created a well established fan base its time to create a brand. Find something about your social media that can distinguish you from the rest and then capitalize from it. If everyone loves your restaurant reviews for example think about starting a blog or another platform where you can interview chefs or attempt to recreate your favorite menu items. Maybe think about developing your own app. Don’t sleep on apps, Kim K was reportedly bringing in $1 mil dollars a minute when she first launched her “kimojis”. I think she’s secretly been some sort of tech genius this entire time. Honestly at this point it doesn’t too much matter what you chose to do because fans are ride or die supporters that will follow you anywhere. If Dr. Miami can create his own record label from plastic surgery then anything is possible.
