It looks like Lochte and a few other swimmers took a play from Joanne the Scammer’s rule book of scams and failed miserably at execution. The swimmers reported that they were “robbed at gun point” in Rio but, why are there so many holes in their story?
Originally, Lochte’s mother reported on Sunday afternoon that the athletes (Lochte, Feigen, Conger and Bentz) were robbed on their way back from partying. After the incident, the swimmers reportedly got into a taxi and headed back to the Olympic Village. According to NBC Lochte reported the following:
“We got pulled over, in the taxi, and these guys came out with a badge, a police badge, no lights, no nothing, just a police badge and they pulled us over. They pulled out their guns, they told the other swimmers to get down on the ground. They got down on the ground. I refused, I was like, ‘We didn’t do anything wrong, so I’m not getting down on the ground…”And then the guy pulled out his gun, he cocked it, put it to my forehead and he said: ‘Get down,’ and I put my hands up, I was like ‘Whatever.’ He took our money, he took my wallet. He left my cell phone, he left my credentials.”
Ok, so here’s what we know:
- The (“victims”)…….swimmers did not report the alleged robbery incident to the police or to the United States Olympic Committee after the presumed frightening ordeal took place. Officers only got involved after seeing the incident reported on television.
- Police were struggled to find any sort of evidence
- The stories did not add up what so ever. After leaving the club from partying, the swimmers stopped at a gas station and were “robbed” at that location. Despite this, there are no witnesses or even the taxi driver to account for the incident. In addition, the time frames have remained inconsistent in terms of the distance from the club, the gas station and Olympic Village.
- Lochte has made it back to the United States. Feigen’s whereabouts are unknown in Brazil . Conger and Bentz were pulled from their flights back to the United States.
What would Olivia Pope do…….
Today, Rio police resources revealed that the swimmer’s fabricated this horribly pieced LIE. Rio police resources stated that the four swimmers arrived to the gas station near Olympic Village, when one of them vandalized a bathroom. The gas station manager told them they would have to pay for the damage and according to police a verbal dispute took place. Reportedly, the swimmers paid the gas station manager for breaking the door in the bathroom and left before the police arrived. This story has been confirmed by the gas station and a security guard that witnessed the event.
I’m honestly very confused as to why they created a tall tale about a robbery, especially since it sounded like they took care of the problem. Broke the door…pissed about having to pay for it…paid for it ….left the scene. Why lie ? Brazil is definitely upset and I don’t blame them. Brazil feels that Americans have a superiority complex and they can just lie on police and get away with it. This incident has further tarnished Rio’s abroad reputation. The United States has had some amazing wins during the 2016 Olympics and it is a shame that some of those successes are being overshadowed by stupidity. I can’t wait to hear the rest of this story and a public apology.
